In the light of close geographical and historical background and the ever-closer Sino-Japanese political and economic relationships the Graduate Institute of Japanese Studies was established in the summer of 1983 to meet the needs of the country. Accompanying with government’s return-education policy, the institute also established graduate courses for those who are at work in 1999.
The Graduate Institute of Japanese Studies has enjoyed remarkable prestige and acclamation. This institute pays special attention to regional studies in Japan’s politics, economy, law , and society. In the wake of globalization, the institute works with industry-government- university collaboration and knowledge to educate and strengthen talented human resources for regional studies about Japan.
