    Abstract: 目錄學在中國一向被視為治學的門徑，其中可以達成這種功能的，就是書目中的提要部份。從表象上看來，提要不過在介紹一書之作者、大旨，並評論該書之得失。可是如果從內部去分析，則可看出提要因其寫作方法的不同，而有不同的典型模式。本文即從歷代撰有提要的書目中，選出客觀性、主觀性及導引性三種不同的提要寫作模式，陳述其現象，並討論其所呈現出的不同學術面向。
