Abstract:	本研究採用JTWC之最佳路徑與官方預報資料，藉由類比歷史颱風個案之方式，開發颱風強度統計預報指引，並估計預報誤差之可能範圍(forecast spread)，模式簡稱為WANI(Weighted ANalog Intensity prediction)。校驗結果顯示，在輸入資料僅有颱風預報路徑與目前颱風強度的條件之下，WANI可提供未來5天之颱風強度可能變化趨勢，120小時之平均絕對誤差(mean absolute error)較ST5D 減少約24%，預報偏差(bias)亦較小。此外，WANI之預報誤差可能範圍可有效涵蓋約68%之誤差。自2014年1月起，此預報模式已安裝於美軍聯合颱風警報中心進行實際預報測試。
