The MARC AMC (MAchine-Readable Cataloging for Archives and Manuscript Control) has developed over two decades in the United States. This article gives an overview to the development of MARC AMC, including the development background, the archival and manuscript's features, the development and implementation of USMARC AMC in the United States.
