The water use records from 16 fossil power plants that are belonged toTaiwan Power Company have been analyzed in this study. The fossilpower water use is need for its operating process like cooling system, and also the environmental protection is considered (FGD process, building green park inside the power plant). The result shows that themajor indicators to determine how much water should be consumed arerelated to the facility installed capacity, employee, and green beltarea in the plant. The rational limit of water use is also determinedby the efficiency of the heater facility. The higher the efficiencyis, the less the water use should be needed.
