The purpose of this study is to develop an optical Braille music score translating software. A user can first scan music scores and then run the translating software. The output file can be either output to Braille or to be printed. By using the software, we can greatly reduce the labor fee and shorten the manufacturing time. This paper only discusses some important preprocessing processes (e.g . staff line identification, music symbols segmentation and the recognition of part of music symbols).
