摘要: When mass center separates from elastic center, high-rise buildings exhibit lateral and torsional coupled vibration modes. This research work was designed to exam this structural coupling induced dynamic behavior through wind tunnel aeroelastic test. Results show that, when the torsion/lateral frequency ratio close to 1.0, building's acrosswind response would unexpectedly decrease. Data analysis also indicates that, at critical wind speed, acrosswind response and vortex shedding process exhibit strong correlation when frequencies are well separated. As frequency ratio drawing close with presence of x-axis eccentricity, correlation between response and vortex shedding will drop substantially. Velocity measurement taken in the wake region also indicates that, when frequency ratio approaches 1, vortex shedding intensity is weakened significantly.
