摘要: Human factors and computer systems are being concerned concurrently with a significant contribution in the development of computer technology as well as in the various applications. This paper intends to study the intelligibility, naturalness and applicability for designing a natural language query system. The attempts will stress the importance of human characteristics and its role in the computer system. A proposed framework is developed, which consists of three components: a) The Natural Language Assistant Subunit (NLAS)- to manage the user's request and to provide an assisted role for the system, b) The Meaning Extraction Subunit (MES)- to analyse the user's request and to infer from the user's intentions, and c) The Information Retrieval Assistant Subunit (IRAS)- to present the adequate information alternatives of the user's request and to manipulate the user's choice into the DBMS (DataBase Management System) for retrieving.
