    Abstract: Submicron superconducting powder of La3CaBa3Cu70y (La3137) was prepared by a polymeric citric acid (CA)/ethylene glycol (EG) precursor method. EA, ICP-AES, XRD, SEM, EDS, magnetic susceptibility and oxygen stoichiometry were employed in characterization of the materials produced in the reaction processes . Citric acid was an excellent polyprotic acid for the preparation of La3137 superconducting powder in tenns of its particle size, hOloogeneity, carbon residue and Tc measurements.
