In this paper, the higher-order beam theory is used in the buckling analysis of sandwich beam. Instead of midplane force, the buckling loading is considered to be uniformly distributed stress through the thickness. Accordingly, the corresponding membrane strain includes the effect of warping on the buckling load. The finite element formulation is derived through perturbation. Compared with the analytical solution, excellent accuracy and fast convergence are observed in the present study.
