從歷史發展的角度來看，布袋戲是清代大陸傳來臺灣的傳統戲劇之一，總共經過一、兩百年的時間，而且隨著時代背景的不同，大致上可分: 清領時期、日治時期、戰後時期。 隨著科技日新月異，1962年臺視成立，同年布袋戲開始與電視媒體做結合，布袋戲開始以嶄新的樣貌出現在世人面前。 在這個與電視媒體結合的過程中，五洲派黃俊雄算是最為成功的五洲派第一代是黃海岱(1901~2007)為黃俊雄之父，黃俊雄自西元1970年開始了電視布袋戲的演出，著名的戲碼是《雲州大儒俠》自此之後大受歡迎。 有線電視臺時期，黃俊雄分別成立「大霹靂節目錄製有限公司」與「天地國際多媒體」並交由子女管理，兩家都是廣受歡迎的電視布袋戲。 本文主要探討的是五洲派布袋戲成功之處，以及布袋戲在臺的發展歷程，從中得知傳統文化保存發展之道。 Historically, puppet show is one of the traditional cultural arts which came from Chinese Mainland during the reign of Ching Dynasty. It covers a span of 100-200 years and can be classified into three stages: Ching Dynasty, Japanese occupation and post-war era. As the modern technology advances, and in year 1962 when Taiwan TV Station was established, puppet show made its debut through electronic media mean into every family. The Wuzhou sect, under the leadership of Mr. Hwang Juien Hsiung, is the most successful among various sects. Mr. Hwang Hei-Dai, the father of Huang Juien Hsiung, is the pioneer of the Wuzhou sect. Juien Hsiung starts the performance of puppet show on TV in year 1970 and 《雲州大儒俠》(The legend of the Night from Yuanzhou) is one of the most popular shows. Huang Juien Hsiung has founded two companies – The Great Pili Radio and Record Company and Tien-Di International Multimedia Company – which are presently administered by his children. Both enjoy fame in Taiwan and abroad. This article deals with the background of the success of Wuzhou Sect. and the course of development of the puppet show and theater in Taiwan. Understanding these, the author wishes to awake the sense leading to the preservation and development of the traditional cultural art.
