This study aims to examine junior high students’ Facebook using behaviors and their consciousness of the Internet security. In order to tackle the issues, this study designed a fuzzy questionnaire to collect data in junior high schools of New Taipei City. The questionnaire includes students’ background variables, the Internet security consciousness and the Facebook using behaviors. The fuzzy statistics were used to transform the interval data. The Facebook using behaviors include “internet socialization”, “demand for information”, leisure and recreation”, and “virtual reality sensation”. The findings of this study are as follows:
First, the order of frequencies in junior high students’ Facebook using will be “the Internet socialization”, “demand for information”, leisure and recreation”, and “virtual reality sensation”.
Second, on the disparity between Facebook using behaviors and security, the biggest disparity lies in “studies discussion with friends on Facebook,” while the smallest one lies in “finding friends in living surroundings or friends separated for a long time on Facebook”.
Third, the longer students use Facebook, the higher self-conscious security of Facebook using behavior is.
Fourth, the result reveals that insecure but frequent behavior includes “meeting new friends on Facebook”.
The suggestions for schools, they can invite parents, teachers, volunteers, counselors, and teenagers to participate in the activities which may provide related knowledge about the Internet friends-making and counseling strategies to prevent the potential issues.
