Abstract:	不少文獻認為戰後台灣政府為了促進消費財產業成長，在1950年代那段歲月所採取的進口替代發展策略，是促成台灣經濟日漸復甦進而快速成長的主因。本文經小心求證後發現：（1）台灣消費財產業在1952至1960年的整個期間沒有進口替代的事實，及（2）台灣消費財產業的進口替代對1950年代那段歲月的產業成長並沒有任何貢獻。換言之，台灣政府在1950年代採取的進口替代發展策略並沒有促進消費財產業成長的政策效果；因此，該進口替代發展策略亦不是促成台灣經濟日漸復甦進而快速成長的主因。
