    Abstract: 本書主要是提供師資培育機構（師範校院與教育學程）教授２學分課程時，作為最基本的參考用書。在內容方面把握基本、簡要與新穎三項原則，並儘可能蒐集國內研究資料；在敘寫方面則力求清晰易懂，深入淺出，避免枯燥艱深的理論分析。每章之後，均附有「參考書目」及「研討問題」，並列有「建議進一步閱讀文獻」，可供有興趣的讀者參考。

    （註）本書乃將過去在師大書苑出版的《教育社會學研究》與主編的《現代教育社會學》中作者撰寫部分的內容，加以統整與修訂；除了取其精要重新組織，另外增加最近資料，方編寫成本書。有興趣更深研的讀者，可再深究其二書。
