摘要:	This study aims to investigate the differences of student engagement considered student satisfaction and its effect on academic achievement among the universities in both Taipei and Shanghai city. The data were collected from October to December 2012. The total of 1,077 students completed and returned their questionnaires from 4 institutions in Taipei (560) and Shanghai city (517). The response rate is 71.8%. This study applied one-way MANOVA, t-test, and regression analyses to determine the difference and relationship among students’ engagement, satisfaction, and academic achievement. According to the findings, there are significant differences between Taipei and Shanghai on student engagement in terms of behavioral engagement and cognitive engagement, satisfaction, and academic achievement. Specifically, there is significant difference between male and female students on their behavioral engagement, satisfaction, and academic achievement in Taipei. However, there is no gender difference found in student engagement, satisfaction, and academic achievement in Shanghai. In addition, the findings reveal there is a significant relationship among college student engagement, satisfaction, and academic achievement in Taipei and Shanghai. The results support the argument that academic achievement can be improved by satisfaction and student engagement in campus.
