This paper reports an experimental work about the hydrodynamic response of individual activated sludge floc moving vertically towards a flat plate. The time evolution of the gap between the moving floc and the plate is recorded along with time, from which the settling velocity variation is obtained. By comparing with the corresponding terminal velocity and the theoretical predictions, an estimate the relative drag force correction factor and the floc permeability is subsequently obtained. The floc interior permeability is estimated.
