The main purpose of this study was to investigate factors affecting perceptions of career barriers, coping strategies, and mental toughness amongst college student athletes, and to also provide suggestions based onthe results ofthe study in providing career guidance to this population. 2. There were significant differences in coping strategies based on different entrance methods, college, and sports standards of the college student athletes.
    3. There were significant differences in mental toughness according to different entrance methods, colleges, and sports standards of the college student athletes.
    4. Mental toughness positively correlated with coping strategies.
    5. Mental toughness negatively correlated with perceived career barriers.
    6. The“backoff”could best predict perceived career barriers.

Applications for the results of the study and suggestions on career guidance for college student athletes and future researches were provided.
