    Abstract: 本研究之網路化虛擬教室伺服系統是建
    立在Internet 的World Wide Web(WWW)系統
    上,以HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP)
    為通訊協定,來傳遞多媒體教學資料。本系
    統提供使用者一個虛擬的教室情境,根據登
    入請求來判斷使用者的身份; 不同的使用者
    身份,虛擬教室伺服系統將提供不同的虛擬
    教室情境, 並且記錄及管理使用者在虛提教
    室的一切活動。
    本論文主要在設計與實作一個伺服端的
    虛擬教室系統, 配合瀏覽器端的處理, 達到
    網路化教學的目的。在規劃設計上,網路化的
    虛擬教室中的伺服系統是屬於扮演著校方的
    角色, 因此有關學校所提供的多種功能及服
    務, 在網路化虛擬教室伺服系統中都必須提
    供,如學校成員方面有老師、學生及教職員
    功能方面有上課、作業練習、筆記工具、教
    材、考試、電子信箱及各類校務公告等。
    In this research, we intended to establish a
    virtual classroom system on World Wide Web
    (WWW) to distribute teaching material in
    multimedia format via HyperText Transfer
    Protocoi (HTTP) as the communication protocol.
    The system provides a virtual classroom
    environment. The system will provide users with
    different classes depending on the user's login
    !D. The system will also record and control all
    activities during the class.
    The purpose of this research is to
    develop a system for distance education on
    Internet under client/server concept. The server
    operates under a virtual class system and the
    client may access the server through a special
    web browser. In this research, the server of
    virtual classroom system plays a role as a schoo l
    in the real world. Therefore, various functions
    and services, which are required in a real
    classroom situation, will be applied in this
    virtual classroom system too. For example, there
    are various members in this virtual school such
    as teachers, students, and administration staffs. It
    provides a virtual place for activities such as
    holding a class session, examines, and
    discussing homework with other members. It
    also offers tools such as note pad, class
    document, e-mail, and bulletin board of school
    activities.
