This work implements the co-simulation of "RecurDyn" and "Simulink" to study a closed-loop system of half-car suspension with magnetorheological (MR) damper. From the perspective of developing a control system, it is easy to construct the whole system via RecurDyn without deriving equations of motion for the half-car suspension system. In addition the MR damper is built as a subsystem thereby posses portability. Through a numerical example, the effectiveness of co-simulation of RecurDyn and Simulink in reducing the period of time of developing a satisfactory controller for the suspension system is demonstrated.
