    Abstract: 近年來，臺灣興起了一股環島熱潮，有的人為了挑戰自我極限而環島，有的人是要感受臺灣土地的氣息和人情味，也有人欲藉此展現個人熱情、追逐夢想，而自行車環島可以說已是臺灣家喻戶曉的活動。本文透過文獻蒐集的方式，整理與分析有關自行車環島在生理及心理層面的相關研究。在生理層面的探討有：一、心肺耐力的提升。二、適度的營養補充。三、選擇合適的裝備以避免運動傷害。在心理層面上的探討有：一、追逐夢想。二、遠離社會與心靈再造。三、心靈治療與挑戰的體驗。四、女性參與的意義。五、休閒體驗等方面。
