Abstract:	本研究是基於「國際認識」重要性所嘗試進行的教科書個案研究，以加拿大中學八年級社會科教科書「Pathways」與「Across the Centuries」作為研究分析的個案。研究者親自於2005年夏天前往加拿大卑詩大學教育學院課程學系進行兩個月的訪問研究，對於「Pathways」進行研讀，並繼續於返國後深入進行分析與查證，完成初步的研究。接下來將繼續針對「Across the Centuries」進行研究，以完成對於加拿大中學教育「中國認識」的研究。初步發現加拿大中學教科書「Pathways」對於中國的介紹份量很多，範圍很廣，內容與圖片也非常豐富。其中有很多有趣的發現，顯現外國人對於中國認識的興趣所在，值得我們參考。但也有一些發現，加拿大教科書中對於中國認識的錯誤，並沒有人注意，以致於一錯再錯。其背後原因值得繼續深入研究。
