Abstract: This workshop addresses the need expressed by instructors throughout Taiwan for
information on how to take advantage of multimedia technology for pedagogical purposes.
The focus of this workshop is twofold. First, the authors will demonstrate a variety of ways
that educators can manipulate commercially produced film materials for the creation of
beneficial classroom materials. Second, the authors will introduce some of the technology, or
equipment, involved in the creation of these videotape aids, with an emphasis on availability
and simplicity of operation. Included in this discussion is a lengthy list of useful hints, gained
from firsthand experience, that can make life simpler for teachers who do not normally
consider themselves "gifted" with a skill for using video technology.
