In a competitive environment, the human resource management office of convenience chain stores had faced a main problem that is the high staff turnover. The high staff turnover may decrease the willingness of organization administrators to invest in their training. Moreover, organization's business performance might be affected. Problem solving ability plays a key role for a person to deal with problems happened in their workplace. In order to enhance high quality performance, employees have been trained to solve the problems they encountered. The purpose of this study was to design and develop an e-learning material integrated with teaching method of anchored instruction and problem-based learning strategy for newcomers of convenience chain stores. In order to ensure the quality of e-learning training material, we used design-based research (DBR) to design, develop and using usability testing to confirm its effectiveness. The usability testing results showed that the quality of the materials, usage of the materials, learning ability of the materials, and intention of behavior were being presented highly acceptance and the interview results also indicated that the e-Learning material can make users perform more skillful and more familiar with the SOP of convenience store tasks.
