Introduction: 民國52年設立夜間部會計統計學系，商學系復於民國54年成立商學部之時，分設工商管理、會計統計、銀行保險、國際貿易四學系。民國57年及59年商學部及夜間部會計統計學系各分設會計組及統計組。商學部會計統計學系會計組於民國62年奉准改設商學部會計學系，夜間部會計統計學系會計組於民國63年納入商學部會計學系。民國69年淡江文理學院獲准升格為大學，成立管理學院，會計學系納入管理學院。為養成學術研究人才，並配合政府回流教育，民國83年及民國89年分別成立碩士班及碩士在職專班（以下簡稱碩專班），民國93年在管理科學研究所（以下簡稱管科所）博士班下設立會計組。本系另於101學年度因應學院整合政策，原於管理學院之下，現改隸屬於商管學院中。

The Department of Accounting was founded in 1963 and is the largest accounting program in Taiwan. The department has been through gradual changes where the baccalaureate, master, and doctoral programs were inaugurated in 1963, 1994, and 2004, respectively. Specifically, the department offers an undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Science), two master’s degree (Master of Science, and Executive Master of Business Administration with a major in Accounting), and a Ph.D. degree. The Bachelor Science in Accounting degree program prepares students for professional accounting positions in the public, private, and governmental sectors. This program also provides most of the education background necessary to complete the Certified Public Accountant Examination or other major professional examinations.
