|Abstract: ||在動畫電影之中，迪士尼作為一個先驅和創新者，並且結合藝術與現代傳媒技術的應用，成為最重要的代表，迪士尼成功的創造出第一部有聲音的卡通《蒸汽船威利》（Steamboat Willie, 1928），與第一部賦予動畫色彩的電影《白雪公主》（Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs, 1937），同時也帶動了動畫電影的風潮。隨著迪士尼動畫電影的傳播，迪士尼已經進入了美國家庭生活，尤其是迪士尼的角色人物，所賦予的象徵與意義，也代表著不同的內涵與價值。|
Among the animated films, Disney, as a pioneer and innovator, combines of art and media technology to create "Steamboat by Willie, 1928" the first sound cartoon, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, 1937" the first animated film had gave the color, Disney become the most important representatives and also led trends of animated films. With the spread of Disney animated films, Disney has entered the American family life, especially the characters of Disney conferred by the symbol and significance, but it also represents a different meaning and value.
Disney animated films always show hopes, dreams and love topics to audiences and give them positive values, but they also convey controversial issues such as gender and power in the films which Disney Princess series to bear the brunt of. Disney is the main source of entertainment of the animated films to everybody, but more important we need to know further about Disney’s magic and fantasy is the product of artificially produced and planned by a large media and entertainment company. When Disney makes the dreams in animated films it also implies or strengthens social norms and values for these reasons which are worthy to be discussed.
With the rising of feminist consciousness, the meaning and aspirations set forth in the women’s movement had also been widely applied to the media. Thus, Disney had gradually begun to change the characteristics and configuration of the female characters in the animated films. This thesis will examine Disney’s history and female characters (Disney Princess), and find out the correlation between the U.S. society and ideology. Therefore, when we check out Disney’s history and female characters (Disney Princess), we can also realize the relationship between the U.S. women’s movement and social culture.
