In this paper, we present new relaxed stability
conditions for continuous-time fuzzy systems (CFS) in T-S (Takagi-Sugeno) model. Several new slack variables are introduced into the derived conditions via exploiting the information of the dynamic system model. In addition, a new treatment of the time derivatives of membership functions based on the concept of polytopes is proposed. This provides extra free dimensions in the solution spaces of the stability conditions, and thus reduces conservativeness. Numerical examples are given which demonstrates the efficacy of the derived stability conditions.
