Abstract:	在本論文中，我們提出一個在雲端計算中使用支援向量機來作性別分類的系統。在此系統中，用戶端（例如手機）負責偵測人臉區域，並使用區域二元模式法作為人臉特徵值，再降低此特徵值維度，用來減低系統運算之負擔，最後傳送到雲端的伺服器做性別辨識。伺服器端首先利用支援向量機來訓練性別分類器，因為它需要大量的計算與記憶體。訓練完成後，伺服器就可以辨識用戶端所傳送之影像的性別，再把辨識的結果回報給用戶端。在本實驗中，我們對FERET人臉資料庫做了五次交叉驗證，並獲得93.21%的辨識率。
