經濟成長是每一國或是每一經濟體追求的重要目標，其中影響的因素眾多，其中又以出口更為重要。在經濟發展文獻上，有「出口是成長引擎(engine of growth)」之語，許多文獻也驗證出口對經濟成長的重要性，而「出口擴張」更是加速台灣經濟成長的主因。進一步檢視台灣的出口可以發現，資本財產業的出口值長年呈現攀升趨勢，一路上揚呈快速成長，成為製造業中的主要出口值得仔細研究。 本文將說明經濟成長與產業成長的關聯性、衡量產業成長的理論模型以及一個一般化的產業成長理論模型。就經濟成長與產業成長的關聯性而言，將應用「成長會計」（growth accounting）的觀念，建立某一產業對整體經濟成長的貢獻程度並加以測定，而測定的方法可用其產業成長與其占全體經濟的比重之乘積加以測定之。本文採用Feder(1982)的理論模型來衡量產業成長，並依據Feder理論模型加入各項出口變數導衍出一般化理論模型，藉此掌握資本財產業的成長肇因，並有以下幾個主要發現： 一、 依成長的趨勢而言，可分為數個階段，其中成長的肇因不同。 二、 對於資本財產業成長及整體經濟成長而言，最主要的肇因為資本投入以及出口部門的生產效率。 三、 對於台灣經濟成長而言，資本財產業不容忽視。 Since the export expansion was one of the important factors which promote industry growth of Taiwan, and the capital goods industry was also an important industry of Taiwan that led whole development of industry turning form agriculture to industry. We adopt Feder (1982) theoretical model to measure industry growth,and add other export variables in the theoretical model to control the causes of capital goods industry growth, and the main findings of this research are as follows: 1.According to the economic growth trends,we can be divided into several stages, which causes different growth of economic. 2.The main reason of growth in capital goods industry and economic is investment and the efficiency of export. 3.In Taiwan''s economic growth, capital goods industry can not be ignored.
