本研究旨在調查高等教育機構策略管理應用的情形，瞭解高等教育機構策略管理應用的現況及在不同環境背景下，高等教育機構應用策略管理各步驟之情形。本研究定義之策略管理包含「組織願景、使命與目標」、「環境SWOT 分析」、「形成與執行策略」及「評鑑與回饋」。研究對象為98 學年度公私立大學共計104 所之校長、副校長共254 人，回收問卷163 份，有效問卷為159 份，有效回收率為62.59%。所得資料以描述性統計、t 檢定及單因子變異數分析進行分析。
最後根據相關文獻研究與統計分析結果提出建議，作為對大學校院校務經營及後續延伸研究之參考。 The purposes of this study are to investigate the strategic managements applied in higher education institutions so as to understand the current status of them in different environments and to understand the context of the higher education institutions application. The strategic management in this study include organizational vision, mission and objectives, environment SWOT analysis, formation and implementation strategies, and evaluation and feedback. The subjects of this research were 254 presidents and vice presidents of 104 universities and 163 of them returned the questionnaires. 159 of the questionnaires were valid. The return rate was 62.59%, and the data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test and one-way ANOVA.
Based on the result of this analysis on the survey, the following conclusions were drawn.
1) The results confirm that the higher education institutions in school administration have been used the strategic management.
2) Placing importance on university’s vision, mission and goal establishment guides the university to clarify the self-positioning.
3) The prudent use of SWOT analysis at universities leads the organizations to a clear direction for the future development.
4) The practical implementation of university strategy and action plan can help university achieve specific goals.
5) The evaluation and feedback of the strategic management makes the university a dynamic progressive organization.
Finally, the suggestions based on the literature review and research conclusions were presented for universities and future research.
