根據上述研究發現,本研究提出若干建議,以供學校行政、輔導教師及未來研究之參考。 The purpose of this study was to investigate and understand the current situation of the role perception and professional development needs of school counselors of Complete High Schools in New Taipei City. A questionnaire survey was conducted, and 115 school counselors were selected from 14 Complete High Schools in New Taipei City as subjects. Base on data analysis by using SPSS14.0 statistical package, the following findings were summarized: 1. The school counselors of Complete High Schools perceived multiple and diverse roles as a school counselor; and the role perception was at medium-high level with the role as a school counselor doing student counseling as the highest perceived one. 2. There were significant differences in role perception of school counselors by some of their background variables. 3. Needs of professional development for school counselor were diversified and at a medium-high level with the “Need for Professional Competencies Improvement ” as the highest one. 4. There were significant differences in needs of professional development for school counselors by some of their background variables. 5.There were significant positive correlations between school counselors’ role perception and needs for professional development . Based on the above findings, some recommendations were proposed for school administration, school counselors, and researchers of future studies.
