This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the interpersonal attraction and relational aggression behavior based on the current status of the female students in vocational and senior high school. The recommendations resulted from the study are to provide to the high schools and counseling centers so that they can be beneficial to the interaction between female adolescent students.. This study used a questionnaire survey, and the subjects were 834 vocational and senior high school female students in 15 schools; the research instruments include ” Instrument of Interpersonal Attraction” and ” Relational Aggression Behavior Instrument”, and use the methods such as Independent Sample T Test, One-way ANOVA, Pearson Product Moment Correlation.
Several facts are found in this research: (1)Different grade levels of female high school students show noticeable difference in interpersonal attraction, grade 10’s scores are higher than grade 11 and 12’s. (2)The interpersonal attraction for public school students scores higher but the relational aggression behavior does lower than that of private school. (3)The students in senior high school depict higher interpersonal attraction than vocational school students, but no significant difference between them is shown in relational aggression behavior. (4)The female students in coeducation schools have higher scores on both the interpersonal attraction and relational aggression behavior than the ones in girl’s schools. (5)Only a certain degree of correlation between the interpersonal attraction and relational aggression behavior exists in the vocational and senior high school female students. The research also found that the vocational and senior high school female students score lower on the interpersonal attraction in the self-assessment whereas their relational aggression behaviors are rare and rumor dissemination cases are uncommon. Therefore, a suggestion could be given to counseling center: by cultivating their interpersonal skills through their own unique characters in the interpersonal attraction, the confidence of the female students will be increased and their peer relationship will grow even stronger.
