Abstract: Research on liquefaction is an interesting endeavor. Many scholars believe that the main trigger of liquefaction under earthquake is the change of pore water pressure inside soil. Others proposed the variation of soils from plastic to liquid state under static condition due to water content changing, and mudflow is then happen. The limit of both states is called the liquid limit. The current paper aims to demonstrate the concept of both states.
