Introduction: 拉丁美洲研究成立於1989年8月，為目前在台灣第一個也是唯一的拉丁美洲研究所。本所自成立以來，即致力於拉丁美洲區域之研究與教學工作，成為台灣地區培育拉丁美洲經貿、國際關係等專業人才的主要學術機構。本所教育目標有三：1.培養兼具西班牙語文及拉丁美洲區域研究之專業能力。2.吸納社會科學等領域之非西語人才進入拉丁美洲研究，並培養其基礎西班牙語文能力。3.培養未來的涉外事務或外交人員。本所自98學年度起與美國研究所合併為美洲研究所，改為美洲研究所拉丁美洲研究組。

Founded in August 1989, the Graduate Institute of Latin American Studies at Tamkang University is the first and the only research center in the field of Latin American studies in Taiwan. The Institute is devoted to the training of well-prepared people for the country and plays an important role in promoting Taiwan’s research on Latin American affairs. Education Objective: 1.Cultivating professional proficiency both on Spanish Language and Regional Studies of Latin America. 2. Attracting non-Spanish learners to study Latin American Studies, and fostering their basic Spanish proficiency. 3. Training potential specialists or diplomats on foreign affairs.
