    Abstract: Aliphatic polyamide, nylon-6, membranes were prepared by isothermal immersion-precipitation from formic acid solutions in an aqueous non-solvent bath. Depending on the composition of the polymer solution and the non-solvent bath, phase transformation can be initiated by a liquid-liquid phase separation process, a crystallization process or a combined process. Hence, the resultant membranes may exhibit a variety of morphologies characterized by cellular pores or crystalline particles.
