The separation theory of Graetz problem in the continuous-contact countercurrent separation processes with recycles at both ends has been derived by use of the orthogonal expansion method. The method of solution is based on the Sturmian theory and requires only positive eigenvalues for enriching section and negative eigenvalues for stripping section during the derivation of the concentrations of products at both ends.
