Abstract: This paper presents the analysis of thermal control of the micro-satellite TUU-SAT1. TUU SAT-1 is a university micro-satellite program initiated at Satellite Engineering Lab. National Central University, Taiwan in 1995. We use the thermal modeling of network method to resolve the value of temperature from a nonlinear energy equation by iteration. It is also investigated the temperature distribution of the micro-satellite running in the sun-synchronous orbit. Square, the selected geometry of micro-satellite in this paper, is used to discuss the temperature of micro-satellite affected by spinning speeds, different altitudes (800km, 1000km and 2000km), material properties and radiator areas. Proper arrangements of radiator area and coatings to maintain micro-satellite in spin-stabilization or gradient-gravity stabilization under its working temperature range can be accessed in the present analysis.
