Abstract: Various networking technologies and personal communication devices are continuously developed, and ubiquitous computing environment is coming. Everyone wants to get on the Internet at anytime, anywhere, and anyway, under mobile situation. Therefore, mobility management in heterogeneous networks becomes an indispensable issue. In this paper, we introduce several evaluated issues of ubiquitous Internet service, and related researches of application adaptation for heterogeneous environments. Then we present a delivered content negotiation protocol based on session initiation protocol, which is suitable for mobility management in heterogeneous environments. This protocol is straightforward, well extensible, and easy to understand and implement. Finally, we exemplify several scenarios of the proposed protocol. This study also provides a further insight on the issues of Internet services in ubiquitous and heterogeneous environments, which can promote technology of pervasive computing.
