Abstract: A fast-settling low dropout linear regulator (LDO) with low power multi-voltage control technique is presented. By utilizing the low power multi-voltage control technique, the proposed LDO provides multiple discrete levels of output voltage and reduces the settling time through fast-settling mechanism. In order to reduce output voltage transition time from light load to heavy load and vice versa, adaptive reference control (ARC) mechanism is used in the proposed LDO. Furthermore, the simulation results demonstrate load regulation and FOM are improved 75% and 31% than conventional works, respectively. Finally, the transient time of changing output voltage reduced from 4.2ms to 11.4μs, and the power dissipation of the multi-voltage control and fast-settling mechanism is only 0.3mW.
