Abstract: D-Aminoacylase isolated from Alcaligenes faecalis DA1 could enantioselectively deprotect racemic N-protected [such as benzoyl (Bz-) and benzyloxycarbonyl (Z-) groups] amino acids to produce free D-amino acids. The active site of the enzyme are roughly described.
