Introduction: 民國53年本校設立法國語文組，民國64年經教育部核准改稱法國語文學系。72學年度經教育部評訂為歐語優良系所，91學年度碩士班成立。本系自83學年度起，遴選三年級學生送至姊妹校留學一年。92學年度起，每年均經甄選程序，派遣碩士班二年級的研究生學生赴里昂第三大學進修一年，以提升學生的法語能力和專業素養。本系所積極培育具有法國語文專業、人文素養、國際視野之複合型、多專長人才，以利全球化就業市場之競爭。
Tamkang university, back then (1963) Tamkang science and literature institute, created a French language section which became French language and literature department. We signed a agreement of cooperation with the French university of Franche-Comte in November 1989 and since 1994, 20 or so students of our department are send there for their 3th year. In the future, we will enhance the distant learning capabilities of our department, in order to adapt to an ever-changing world; but we will also never depart from our foremost duty : teaching French.
