Introduction: 本校為因應國家建設與經濟發展之需要，於1986年創設「交通管理學系」，以培養公路、鐵路、海洋、航空及都市運輸各方面之交通專業科技、管理人才。本系教師本於術德兼修的教育理念，透過質量並重的教學內涵，培育學生積極進取、自信自重的自我發展能力。並在理論與實務整合之教學原則下，使學生具備交通運輸之專業知識及經營管理技術，成為政府交通運輸部門與民間事業單位之主要規劃、工程、營運管理幹部。此外，為培養運輸學界與實務界具備獨立研究與決策能力之高級人才，本系於1995年設立「運輸科學碩士班」；為使本系發展定位更明確，並於1999年更名為「運輸管理學系」。本系另於101學年度因應學院整合政策，原於管理學院之下，現改隸屬於商管學院中。

The Department was established in 1986, with the aim of training students to become transportation professionals in highway, railway, ocean, aviation, and urban transportation to fill the needs of national infrastructure, construction and economic development. Moreover, to help train advanced experts capable of conducting independent research and decision making for transportation circles as well as the related industries, a graduate program in transportation science was established in 1995 and has recruited qualified candidates. Course design for the junior classes is focused on fundamental transportation courses as the weft and analytical management courses as the woof, whereas the senior classes emphasize not only the theoretical aspects of transportation courses, but also their interdisciplinarity, technology and practicality.
