本文主要是探討數位化對檔案典藏與保存的影響，及檔案典藏單位因應這些影響的措施與反應。首先說明數位化發展對檔案典藏方面所造成的影響；其次，則是探討國外之國家檔案館，如美、英、加、澳、紐等國家檔案館對數位檔案典藏及保存的措施。除此之外，並以國內主要之檔案典藏單位之訪談資料與焦點團體座談的專家學者意見為基礎，瞭解數位化發展對國內主要檔案單位在實體檔案保存與典藏方面的影響，以及保存數位檔案方面的作法。最後則是以上述之資料為基礎，歸納整理出數位化在檔案典藏方面所引發的相關議題。
The main purpose of this paper is to discuss the impacts of digitization on
archive preservation and to understand the reactions of archives to those impacts.First of all, the impacts of digitization on archive collection discussed in literatures are described. Further, the paper discusses the strategy taken by a few national archives in respond to digitization. Data collected from interviews and focus groups are also presented in order to understand the opinions about the impacts of digitization on archive preservation. Finally, issues related to digitization and archive preservation are discussed.
