    Abstract: This study develops a production lot size inventory model for deteriorating items with finite production rate, inventory-level dependent demand and partial backordering. It extended the Sarker et al. [6] model by allowing partial backordering as the shortage occurs, and an alternative optimaliztion technique is presented to derive an optimal replenishment and production policy. Numerical example and sensitivity analysis is implemented to illustrate the theory.
