簡介：為了培植我國生命科學研究人才，提升生技產業之研發水準，本校於2003年成立生命科學研究所，期能藉由在生物科學及生物技術相關領域之人才教育與訓練，培育出能夠提升我國生技水準，進而對於人類生存與發展有所貢獻之人才。「培育生物科學(Bioscience)和生物技術(Biotechnology)人才」乃為本所成立之主要目的。本所將整合各相關專長教授和研究單位，以海洋生物技術、環境生物技術、農業生物技術、食品生物技術、微生物應用研究、酵素蛋白質研究、藥物開發、生醫材料等為主要發展方向。本所將於98學年併入本校化學系，成為「化學研究所」之「生命科學組」。

In order to cultivate students in researching life sciences and promote research level in bioindustry, the Graduate Institute of Life Sciences was therefore established in 2003. It offers a master program for graduates with an interest and passion for life sciences. The courses covering a diverse spectrum include cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, cancer biology, bioinformatics, structural biology, genomics and proteomics to provide each graduate with the intellectual background, laboratory skills, and research experience necessary to be successful in his/her future scientific endeavors.
