The concern by mothers regarding early childhood education is increasing every year. It is not unusual for infants to be studying English as a preliminary to the English classes of elementary schools, soon to be mandated by the Ministry of Education. Recently, English learning programs, especially immersion programs, have started to attract attention. Schools conducting immersion programs are comparatively easier to enroll in opposed to international schools, thus its increase in popularity. However, this type of early childhood education arouses voices concerned with negative influence it may have on children. Despite its popularity by mothers, opposition is strong, and includes a significant number of authorities in the field of education. The question remains to whether it is advantageous for children to have an early English education. Various references, interviews with mothers, and questionnaires were used for analysis. The results show that mothers who are anxious towards nursing or school are more likely to have a favorable view towards early education. This tendency was greater for mothers with less confidence in their English proficiency level. With these results, different approaches to education for children will be discussed.
