本研究旨在了解外籍教師對我國三所私立大學國際化的影響,藉由三所私立大學行政主管與外籍教師在教學,研究與服務等方面的影響等看法進行比較,分析雙方看法上的相同與差異處,最後提出對本研究的結論與建議。
本研究的研究方法為訪談法與文件分析法,研究對象為我國三所私立大學,這三所私立大學在創校歷史與規模皆有相近之處,故選取這三所私立大學作為研究對象;在這三所學校,藉由訪談的方式,挑選11位任教於不同系所的外籍教師與3位行政主管進行資料的蒐集。
透過資料分析與討論,獲得以下的結論:
一,徵聘外籍教師的策略,因高等教育機構情況的不同有所差異。
二,徵聘外籍教師對推展國際化活動有正面的影響。
三,外籍教師與其國外大學學術合作程度,因高等教育機構情況的不同而有所差異。
四,外籍教師參與研討會與發表文章,因高等教育機構情況的不同而有所差異。
五,外籍教師擔任行政主管,因高等教育機構情況的不同而有所差異。
六,外籍教師將國際化理念帶至課程中皆帶來正面的影響。
最後本研究根據研究結論,分別對教育主管部門,學校行政主管,外籍教師與學生提出建議。 The purpose of this study is to understand the impact of the foreign faculty on internationalization of three private universities in Taiwan. The study compared the opinions and attitudes toward teaching, research and service between top administrators in charge of international affairs
and the foreign faculty.
The study adopted qualitive research methods including the in-depth interview and documentary analysis to analyze the current situation and the problems encountered by three private universities in Taiwan selected as research subjects.There are several major findings:
1. These three institutions have different strategies to recruit the foreign faculty.
2. Recruitment of foreign faculty brings positive impact on the development of internationalization activities on campus.
3. The levels of international research cooperations with foreign universities are different.
4. The level of the participation in international seminars and conferences by foreign faculty is different among three institutions.
5. Administrative services by foreign faculty is different among three institutions,too.
6. Internationalization conception embedded in the curriculum by foreign faculty brings positive impact on campus.
