Abstract:	貨幣分析論者主張，一個小型開放經濟為世界物價與利率的接受者，它能在世界巿場上出售其所有全能生產下的商品與勞務，故它必能達到充分就業。其貨幣政策因此不能影響其物價利率與所得水準，也不能影響其貨幣需求。故超額貨幣供給必然導致外國商品勞務及（或）金融債券的輸入，國際收支因而發生赤字，直到貨幣市場恢復均衡為止。　　臺灣為一實行固定匯率之小國經濟，臺灣的物價與利率和世界物價與利率相當一致，雖然滿足貨幣分析論的基本假設，但實證結果顯示，貨幣因素僅能部分解釋臺灣國際收支失衡的現象。這可能是由於臺灣實行外匯及對進口的管制，以及貨幣當局實行抵消政策的結果，使得經濟調整機能變得較為複雜。因此臺灣的貨幣當局欲藉貨幣政策影響國際收支，將不易獲得立竿見影的效果。
