    Abstract: 一九九○~九一年，南斯拉夫聯邦瓦解之際，前馬其頓社會主義共和國於一九九一年十月宣佈脫離聯邦而成立一新獨立的國家。其之獨立固然躲過了內戰的浩劫，卻因它的國名、民族惹來鄰國的爭議與杯葛，最後透過國際社會（聯合國及歐盟）及美國之調停而得以善終。本文就馬其頓共和國建國初期與鄰國之關係發展作一概述與分析。
