    Abstract: 在這個資訊爆炸、各種網路資源蓬勃發展的今日,人們也越發需要高速度的網路,來隨時隨地接收新的資訊,在有線網路穩定發展的今日,無線網路的發展也逐漸被大家重視。隨著近來無線網路的興起,新的無線網路規格IEEE802.16的制定,帶領無線網路邁向一個展新的紀元。Intel所主導的IEEE802.16無線網路規格,亦被稱為全球微波存取互通性(WiMAX),針對無線大都會網路(WMAN)設計。
    本論文使用WiMAX現場影音傳輸系統,在台大驗證WiMAX的覆蓋率、訊號強度與傳輸速率,並真正去傳輸影像、VoIP以及data,將理論上的數據根據接收到聲音、影像的品質轉化成使用者直觀的感受。以台灣大學的數據為範本,提供廠商一個建置的經驗,且讓使用者在使用WiMAX上網時,根據所在地的訊號品質來調整所使用的服務,達到一個較好的服務品質。
    In this information explosion and network resource prosperity days, people is at anytime and anywhere searching for high speed networks to retrieve the new information he needs; the development of wireless network has gradually drawn people’s attention in these days even the wired network has been stably developed. With the emerging of new wireless network and the proposal of new wireless network standard of IEEE 802.16, the wireless communication has progressed into new era. The wireless standard of IEEE 802.16, as it is also called the Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX), is mainly designed for Wireless Metropolitan Area Network (WMAN).
    In this study it implements real time field trials of WiMAX audio-video transmission system in the campus of National Taiwan University to study and verify the network coverage, receiver signal strength and transmission rate in the transmissions of video signal, VoIP and data. It transfers and converts the data of the received audio, voice and the video quality into user’s subjective grade. With the field trial data collected and analyzed in the campus of National Taiwan University it will provide the system developers and service providers the fundamental system performance and can be adopted as references when they are in the preparation of system installation; it also provides to the users various service qualities he may encounter at his location when he makes those services requests so that he can adjust his traffic or service request to attain its best system performance.
