In heterogeneous wireless environment, the integration of wireless access network will be accomplished by seamless handover with many challenges such as service mobility, vertical handover, common authentication, unified accounting/billing, security mechanisms, QoS and service provisioning, etc.
This paper offers a HIP-based vertical handover scheme which utilities MIH in heterogeneous wireless network. We proposed a mobile integrated architecture, and did some simulations on the vertical hand over with various scenarios. The method can decrease system overhead caused by handover and provides Internet users always best connection.
